This was the highlight of a lovely two week vacation in the Champagne area. Our guide, Helene, was superb, at least trilingual (Fr/En/German) and very patient and knowledgeable. We arrived 4 days after the last grapes of the season had been pressed and the first fermentation was underway. This is a small, family run operation, with their own vineyards, press, cellars and bottling. The cellars were hand dug and store 180,000 bottles. They produce 55,000 bottles/year and their champagne is magnificent. Totally worth the experience and we would highly recommend to anyone. It is in Tours du Marne, a small village, and you’ll need a car to get there as public transit is minimal. Utterly charming.
My husband and I found Our morning at Lamiable the highlight of our trip to the Champagne region. Our guide and the owners were very hospitable and took their time teaching us about their family winery, the process of champagne making and tasting. We had fun learning how to disgorge the dead yeast, cork, cage , and label our own Demi bottle.Loved the hands on experience of champagne making.
Helene was our guide. She knew everything about champagne! We started in the cellars, learning the chemistry. Then had a tasting of 3 champagnes. Then went to the distillery and bottling to learn about the pressing and first firmentation. We bottled our own choice of champagne, labels personalised with our name!!! And then tasted one more. We chose to buy some bottles and little stoppers/magnets/bags. (But that was our choice - no hard-selling!) Family run. 100% recommend. Someone even brought their dog on the whole tour - it was extremely welcoming. Fantastic value. I would tell friends and family to go here - other houses don't let you bottle your own champagne!!!
nice and really fantastic tour that I've ever joined in France. Good knowledge and skills of making champagne explaining by Ellen . This is number one tour you should join if you plan to visit Alsace.
We had an amazing experience at Champagne Lamiable! Our guide Hélène was passionate about champagne, very friendly and speaks English really well. Next to a tour with an explanation about how Champagne is made, you can do a part of the Champagne making process yourself and bring home your own half bottle of Champagne. Would definitely recommend!
