Overview

Be among the locals and get a better understanding of the Dutch. Go on a small adventure, tasting new things you didn’t know excited. Challenge yourself. Meet new friends. This is the low-key way to discover a new city during a chill afternoon, exploring sights, finding cute, tucked away places meeting locals and get some knowledge about the city and her cuisine. One thing is for sure: you don’t need any more food the rest of your day.

So what are we going to do?

Me or another enthusiastic, food loving tour guide will take you and the rest of the group on a three hour food journey through the city. We will walk and eat some of the food inside and eat others on the go. You can buy optional drinks at the restaurants we’re going to (drinks are not included!). During the tour you’ll receive some fun facts about Rotterdam and the history of it’s food, but don’t expect a 3 hour history lesson from us. We talk, have fun, eat and drink. Eat with you soon!

What Can You Expect?

Itinerary

Customers will be taken on a three-hour food tour, where they’ll pass by local and unique places while they discover the city through its cuisine. The customers will discover Rotterdam through their taste buds. The tour includes:

- 7-8 tastings, with optional drinks;
- a food and travel loving tour guide;
- a personal e-mail before and after the tour with food and travel tips about the Netherlands;
- a secret recipe to make a Dutch dish at home.

Activity details:
1. Dutch cuisine: street food style, eat it outside/on the way
2. Japanese cuisine: sweet dish, eat inside of a Instagramable, cute restaurant
3. Surinamese, Indonesian and Javanese cuisine: try a few savory and sweet dishes from cuisines that has influenced how we know the Dutch cuisine today
4. Surinames meets Rotterdam: try Rotterdam's famous Sandwich
5. Bakery: we end with a sweet treat in the park

With our group of friends we enjoyed the food tour led by the enthusiastic guide Merel. The food was a reflection of Rotterdam, tasty and in addition to Dutch we also tasted Surinamese, Indonesian and Japanese cuisine. The walking itself was pleasant, not too long between stops but able to see the city and architecture (with explanation from Merel) at an easy pace. You will be very full at the end of the tour! Met een groep vriendinnen hebben we deze foodtour gedaan door Rotterdam. We kwamen op mooie plekken en de tourguide Merel wist veel te vertellen over de stad, de verschillende culturen en het eten. We hebben super lekker en divers gegeten en je kon van alles proeven en uitproberen. Je krijgt genoeg te eten :)

Met onze vriendinnengroep hebben we genoten van de foodtour onder leiding van de enthousiaste gids Merel. Het eten was een weerspiegeling van Rotterdam, bijzonder en naast Nederlandse proefden we ook de Surinaamse, Indische en Japanse keuken. Het wandelen zelf was prettig, niet te lang tussen stops maar wel de stad en architectuur (met uitleg van Merel) kunnen zien op een gemakkelijk tempo. Zoals in andere reviews al benoemd, je zit aan het einde van de tour goed vol! Bedankt Merel

Erg leuke foodwandeling door het centrum Rotterdam. Heerlijke hapjes op leuke locaties waar we anders niet zouden komen. Je hoeft ruim ervoor en een hele tijd erna niet meer te eten :-) Gezellig met een leuke enthousiaste gids!
