Michael really didn’t know much about Castro and The Mission. It would have been more informative for us to have walked on our own, using our phones. It was a terribly disappointing “tour”. It really wasn’t a tour. It was simply a walk with a local guy. We speculated together about all that we saw. La Vacanza Travel/ WithLocals should ensure that its guides have something to say during their tours. The Ghost Tour we took through La Vacanza Travel was much better. There is no comparison. I feel like this “tour” simply took my money. Note: We received a partial refund, which is better than no refund at all. But, I cannot recommend this tour with the same guide. Save your valuable time for something else.

Met Michael in front of Alamo Square Cafe. We then began our walk-First stop Painted Ladies. We then began our walk around Castro and Mission District. Ended on Clarion Way with the painted murals and ended up at Taqueria for a Burrito. (Delicious) Michael was very knowledgeable and pleasant. Long walk. Wear comfortable shoes.

Criss met us in front of the Alamo Square Cafe. We then began our walk. A little disappointed in the Painted Ladies. Saw them from the park. Not very impressive. We then began our walk around Castro and Mission District. Ended on Clarion Way with the painted murals. Criss was very knowledgeable and pleasant. Long walk. Wear comfortable shoes.
