Lokal Surf School private beginner lesson provides a maximum of 2 hours of 1v1 coaching. Instructors will teach you proper surfing techniques, including paddling, standing up, and riding waves, as well as how to read ocean conditions and recognize rip currents for your ocean safety.

In addition to surfing, we offer a chance to experience Balinese surf culture and learn about the history of surfing in Bali. This makes it an excellent choice for those who want to learn to surf while immersing themselves in the local culture.

During the 2 hour surf lesson, you will have the opportunity to experience the thrill of catching waves in one of the world's most renowned surfing destinations. Our experienced instructors will provide comprehensive lessons on the fundamentals of surfing, including paddling techniques, standing up on the board, and how to maneuver on the waves.

Once you've mastered the basics, you'll be ready to hit the water and catch some waves! Our instructors will be by your side every step of the way, offering guidance and tips to help you improve your skills and build confidence on the board. Our lessons are tailored to your individual needs and abilities, ensuring a fun and rewarding experience for everyone.

After your surf lesson, you'll have plenty of time to soak up the sun and enjoy the beautiful scenery of Batu Bolong Beach.

We provide all the necessary equipment, including surfboards, rash guards, zinc, and bottled water, so all you need to bring is a positive attitude and a sense of adventure. Join us for a truly unforgettable experience on the waves of Bali!

Life changing experience!! Can't recommend Lokal Surf School more!!! The lesson was well structured. After a dry land tutorial, we hit the water and the instructors safely guided us through the process and encourage us with tips and instruction during the whole lesson. We were all shocked that we actually can stand on the board and ride a wave on our first try! All the instructors have superior knowledge with clear instructions and patience but pushed you to improve with compassion and kindness (after all, as the guys constantly reiterated, surfing is about having fun and not nailing every move or wave!). Look no further, these are your guys!!

I would have preferred more instructions and a warm up prior to going in the water. I had booked a private lesson and felt somewhat left to my own devices by the instructor.

This is the second year in a row that l've joined Oka and his most excellent crew of instructors in Canggu. I went from a true beginner to an intermediate surfer, comfortable confident and eager to learn more. For me it was the perfect balance of stretching my limits but feeling safe and in control. Every single outing is a positive fun experience. Unlike many other surf schools, if the conditions are not right, Oka will simply not take you out - preferring to forego revenue than waste your time or push you into conditions above your ability level. As you get better and start surfing the line-up, the guys are really good at helping you gain a better understanding of how to read the surf, the patterns, the timing etc. I have taken surf lessons elsewhere in Bali, but I never really got it until I started surfing with these guys. I'm proud to say that I can now noseride, and I owe it all to Lokal Surf School. I can't wait to continue my lessons with them and see where my surfing journey takes me.
