Udawalawe National Park, located in Sri Lanka, is a remarkable destination for nature enthusiasts and wildlife lovers. Spanning over 30,000 hectares, this national park offers a unique and unforgettable experience, especially with its close proximity to the Elephant Transit Home. One of the main highlights of Udawalawe National Park is its thriving population of elephants. The park is home to over 600 elephants, making it one of the best places in the world to observe these majestic creatures in their natural habitat. The Elephant Transit Home, situated within the park, adds an extra layer of excitement and educational value to the overall experience. The Elephant Transit Home is a rehabilitation center for orphaned and injured elephants. It aims to provide a safe and nurturing environment for these elephants until they are ready to be released back into the wild. Visitors to Udawalawe National Park have the opportunity to witness the feeding sessions at the transit home, where the baby elephants are bottle-fed with milk. This heartwarming sight allows visitors to understand the conservation efforts being made to protect these incredible animals.
