Day 2: Mount Bromo Tour - Bondowoso City

Stop At: Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park, Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park, East Java, Java
At 03.00am, we will start driving going to the most famous viewpoint in the world at Mt.Pananjakan1 (2770 m) of the Tengger Caldera. Here, we will wait for dramatical sunrise and panorama with five mountains Tengger crater and active Mt.Semeru (3676 m) biggest volcano in java. After that, the driving down to cross the sea of sand goes to Mt.Bromo by walking. And We will go back to the hotel for breakfast about 8.00 am, after that Shower, packing your bag and check out and then continue the driving to Bondowoso City to stay in Salsabila Guest House or Baratha Hotel, it takes about 5 hours. We will Stop at Besuki city first to have lunch and relaxing.

Day 3: Explore Ijen Crater - Drop off

Stop At: Ijen Crater, Banyuwangi 68454 Indonesia
At 01:30 am, and Check-Out, we will start driving a short way to the Pos paltuding and than start trekking 3km about 2 hours to get the summit and the spectaculer of ijen crater. After That, we leave Ijen plateau drive to Ketapang Harbour about 2 Hour Drive Maximum and program mount bromo ijen crater tour is ended. we will arrive at harbour around 10-11am.

We had the pleasure to take the 3d2n trip with Hidayat, who was very responsive on whatsapp and help us arrange the trip even with our special wishes (pickup from Surabaya at 23:00 so that we can go directly to the hike; allowed us to book our own hotel in Bangyuwangi as we wanted a bit more high-end hotel for our honeymoon). The trip to Bromo from Surabaya was quite exhausting with so little sleep, so if you have the time, do sleep over in the village next to Bromo the night before. Mt Bromo sunrise viewpoint is not a 'real hike' - just 10min up the hill after riding a jeep almost to the top, and it's cold up there so make sure to wear warm clothes (or a blanket). There are many tourists everywhere but we counted with that anyway, and it's not a problem to avoid having them all in the pictures ;). The ca 6h ride to Banyuwangi was not easy after the lack of sleep but also totally worth it as the hike to Ijen was really rewarding, also thanks to the very nice local guide Sugi. The hike is pretty steep for a while but definitely doable and the views on top breathtaking (even though in the time we were visiting it was not possible to see the blue flame due to increased volcanic activity in the crater). Both Hidayat and Sugi were fun to talk to and made sure we took thousands of pictures (and also took many of us). We are happy that we did this trip with them.

Visiting Mt. Bromo and Ijen are a must! The views are literally jaw dropping and worth the hike. Remember to dress appropriately for Bromo as it can get quite cold/windy in the morning, however you can rent a jacket if needed. The ride to Bromo in the land cruiser was also really fun! Hiking to Ijen and down to see the blue fire/sulfur miners was cool but not for the faint of heart, make sure you have the right shoes as it can be quite steep! Views from up top are unforgettable. Our driver/guide Fahmi was awesome too! Super friendly, informative, and professional. He made sure we got photos at all the best spots which we loved. We even left a pair of sunglasses in the car and he immediately shipped it to our next destination (thank you Fahmi!). The accommodations are no frills given the area and lack of places which we thought was worth noting. Overall we had a great experience and tour!

Die Tour war insgesamt sehr gut organisiert und auch die Unterkünfte waren einfach, aber sauber und völlig ausreichend für die Zeit, die man darin verbracht hat. Wir wurden am ersten Tag pünktlich abgeholt und unserer Fahrer war immer sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Der Sonnenaufgang am Bromo war wunderschön, aber auch sehr kalt, also unbedingt warme Sachen mitbringen. Die zweite Nacht war äußerst kurz und der Auf- und Abstieg zum Ijen und den blauen Feuern nicht ganz unanspruchsvoll. Insgesamt war die Tour sehr aufregend mit vielen tollen Ausblicken, aber auch durch den wenigen Schlaf und die Aufstiege recht anstrengend.
