Overview

Departing from our Te Anau lakeside base, the journey begins by soaring over Lake Te Anau. Soak up views of the Hidden Lakes before flying above the local’s playground. We land at a mountain tarn with views over the Main Divide.

Once airborne again, you’ll fly over the remote Kepler Mountains before getting dropped off at the Luxmore Hut. The starting point of your hike. Soak up the amazing views from Luxmore Summit, before descending onto the shores of Lake Te Anau.
Duration of hike: 3 hours or 6 hours if you including additional Summit Track

Departing from our Te Anau lakeside base, the journey begins by soaring over Lake Te Anau. Soak up views of the Hidden Lakes before flying above the local’s playground. We land at a mountain tarn – take a breath of crisp alpine air and enjoy rugged mountain views over the Main Divide.

Finish the Heli-hike with a boat trip back to town centre

Duration: 10 minutes

Stop At: Kepler Track, Golf Course Road Eastern Fiordland, Te Anau, Fiordland National Park New Zealand

You’ll fly over the remote Kepler Mountains before getting dropped off at the Luxmore Hut. Enjoy stunning views over the South Arm of Lake Te Anau before beginning your hike on the Kepler Great Walk trail.

    Had an amazing tour of Doubtful and Dusky Sounds with amazing pilot Ben. He landed us in three amazing spots high above the fiords. We were so fortunate to have beautiful early fall weather for tjis flight. Would definitely recommend this flight. It was a once in a lifetime experience for sure.

    What a wonderful company!! I accidentally booked the wrong day and they completely worked with me to allow us to still go up for the day. The most absolutely amazing, genuine, wonderful people working there. The experience was once in a lifetime with doing an alpine landing and then continuing on for the Luxmore Hut drop off. My dad and I continued on towards the summit and then walked through the path down to the lake. It was an easy climb down. He had a torn meniscus at the time and was still able to do it easily with a brace.

    This was one of the best experiences of my life. Our Pilot Ben was amazing, the office staff were really nice! The views were incredible. Landing on untouched areas and walking around is fantastical. It seriously did not feel like real life.

    This was one of our best experience in our trip to New Zealand. I planned to propose during one of our landings and it made it for a memorable moment. The views are stunning and the more deep you go into the fjords, the more surreal it gets. The southern lakes team made it super special. Ben who was our pilot was thoughtful, kind throughout and made it an unforgettable experience. Definitely recommend.
