Tenerife: Hiking through Enchanted laurel forest Above Masca

Itinerary

This diverse hiking trail offers stunning views of Teide, the highest mountain in Spain, as well as the deep gorges above Masca. The trail begins in a pine forest, then leads to a panoramic viewpoint where you can see both sides of the island. From there, the trail descends into ancient laurel forests overgrown with mosses and ferns. This enchanted forest is very similar to the Anaga forest, but much closer to the south of the island.

This hike is a must-do for any nature lover visiting Tenerife. It is an easy/moderate hike, a loop, suitable for everyone, 6.6 km long, 240m ascend, 240m descent, so be sure to wear appropriate footwear. The hike takes about 4 hours to complete.
