A guided walking tour is a great way to get a feel for Port of Spain. This is not a port you'll enjoy doing on your own. On the one hand it's more developed than most places in the Caribbean. On the other hand, it's definitely edgier, with reported crime issues and a fair number of homeless. But don't stay on the ship. Our guide Anika pointed out historical sites and other points of interest and took us to a street market that was thriving despite it being a Sunday.
The trip to Fort George overlooking the entire city. The local cuisine was fabulous. The pace of the walking tour was to my ability.
