Overview

We start at the south end of the aqueduct and soon enough you are paddling across this famous feat of engineering which stands at an impressive 126ft above the Dee River. Although this style of canoeing is deemed a calm and peaceful session the look over the edge is a breathtaking sight, but with our staff on hand, there is nothing to worry about, especially with a safe footpath on the opposing side.

After this it is then a breeze down the canal, learning and developing skills across the way with some games and challenges thrown in. Our endpoint is the Sun Trevor pub which is a great location for some good quality grub and a cold drink.

    I love spending time in water, in nature and learning about history. This trip ticked all of these boxes at once. Massive shout out to our guide Anton who brought it all to life in a fun and engaging way. Not only we're his Monty Python references on point, he made sure everyone was safe and had plenty of fun too. Highly recommend.

    Amazing outdoors experience. Excellent guides (Anton) helped us gear up and prepared us to canoe over the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct. Great combination of expertise and knowledgeable tour guides. Great senses of humor. They even took photos and videos for us. Amazing UNESCO World Heritage site. The views did not disappoint. Highly recommend to all!

    We had an amazing experience and Grizzly was a brilliant guide. I wasn’t able to lift canoe due to a pre existing injury but that was all done for me so I didn’t have to worry. Thank you Wendy & Rachel 😁

    First time cannoeing and cannot recommend Anton from Bearded Men Adventures enough . He was knowledgeable, friendly and put the whole group at ease, making us first timers feel super relaxed and set up for a great time. The views are incredible! We journeyed through the canals at a gentle but steady pace and even had time to race the other participants. My little family and I had a great time today and I highly recommend Anton and the bearded Men Adventures.
