Discover the heart of Wales by scrambling up a lush green, temperate rainforest. One of Wales' hidden gems, an activity that always inspires people to come back wanting more.

Expect a number of challenges along the way as you work your way in and out of pools, over/ under boulders and up/ down waterfalls. This is a fantastic activity for families and adult groups alike and a perfect introduction to the sport of canyoning.

If you are after more jumps, slides, abseils, we'd recommend you look at our Extreme Canyoning option, which is a bit more adrenaline focused.

We're proud to work in all the gorges and canyons in Snowdonia and this is the best gorge scrambling experience in the area.

All under 18's must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian.

What Can You Expect?

Itinerary

Gorge Scrambling/ Walking, otherwise known as Ghyll Scrambling or Canyoning in other areas, involves scrambling up a watercourse full of waterfalls, pools, boulders and rocky walls.

The minimum age for this activity is 8 years old and this is enjoyed by families and adult groups alike.

All under 18's must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian.

  • 5mm Wetsuits with Hood (optional), Wetsuit Socks, Wetsuit Vest (autumn, winter), Harness, Helmet, Buoyancy Aid (if required), Photos & Videos for FREE, Water/ Coca Cola/ Beer and Cake for afterwards

    • Travelers should have a moderate physical fitness level
    • This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund

    Our favourite activity of the week, ranging from 9yrs old to 50 yrs young and some feeling more intrepid than others we made our way up the Gorge with guidance and support from Dom and Saul. It was so professional and yet fun at the same time, they thought if everything and made is feel really unique. Really can't rate this experience highly enough, we are already trying to plan a return visit!

    My son (13) and I went gorge scrambling with Sol and Meg and had the best time. It really was the highlight of our trip to Snowdonia! We were complete beginners but Meg and Sol made us feel really confident and safe. We started out a little nervously but after a short time we were sliding down rocks, jumping into gorges and climbing waterfalls. It was really great! All the kit was provided and was top notch with nice new, thick and warm wetsuits (very much required!). Will definitely go again when in the area. It was a really great bonding experience for my son and I!

    My family, (including 14yo boy and 8yo girl) and I spent the morning gorge walking with Sol and we absolutely loved it. He is super communicative and helpful, even from the first enquiry we made, and this carried on through up until the activity had finished. The activity and Sol had us all interested and laughing throughout.     Had an excellent afternoon gorge scrambling in beautiful surroundings with Dom, who was a terrific guide: very personable, lots of knowledge of the area and always keeping an eye on us to make sure we managed ok, especially with the trickier bits. It was a great experience ! (Just make sure you take a big towel for getting changed in the secluded car park afterwards and appropriate footwear as they suggest on the website. All rest of the kit was provided and excellent). Definitely recommended. :)

    Sol was amazing. We went the day after Storm Babet so he gave us a choice of a tamer gorge. We chose that and glad we did. Sol gave us a good safety brief, had all the correct equipment and was really good with our 8 year old. There was fun and history along the way. And of course, cake and drinks at the end. Finally, Sol took videos and photos along the way and sent these all to us at the end of the day. Would definitely recommend.
