Udawalawe National Park is a national park on the boundary of Sabaragamuwa and Uva Provinces in Sri Lanka. The park was created to provide a sanctuary for wild animals displaced by the construction of the Udawalawe Reservoir on the Walawe River, as well as to protect the catchment of the reservoir.

We recently went on a 4-hour safari tour, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience! Our guide was punctual, arriving right on time, which gave us a great start to the day. Throughout the tour, our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and informative, sharing fascinating details about the park and its wildlife. The highlight of our safari was undoubtedly the close encounters with multiple elephants, the park's main attraction. Our guide expertly navigated the park, allowing us to safely get up close with these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat. It was a breathtaking and memorable experience! Four hours felt like the perfect amount of time to explore and enjoy without feeling rushed. After the tour, we stayed nearby for the night, which allowed us to reflect on the wonderful sights of the day. I highly recommend this tour for anyone looking to have a meaningful and engaging wildlife experience. Don't miss out on this incredible adventure!

Wow! What a day! Elephants, including a baby 1 month old!! Gimhana was an amazing host, once he worked out we were bird freaks, he helped us spot some amazing birds and used his bird field book to help us identify excatly what we had found. The early start was perfect to ensure we saw all the dawn activity as well as beating the crowd. A great 4 hours.

We bookes with Gimhana, he was an amazing safari tour guide!! He fixed transport to/from our hotel which was in Hiriketya. Also the communication was great. During the safari he bought us small breakfast, that was so nice. Also we got free water and a really good experience. The taxi driver was also super nice, and the ride was comfortable:) We did the 4h tour and we god 30 minutes extra 10/10 would recommend

A well-guided tour. The guide was very friendly, took time for photos and was able to tell us a lot about the country and the animals. It was very informative and we were able to see a lot of animals.

Had a fantastic safari tour with gimhana. I did the 4 hour tour and it checked all the boxes. We saw everything I wanted to see and the jeep was incredibly comfortable. It was an amazing experience and gimhana even recommended a place to stay that was absolutely perfect. This entire experience was top notch. Cannot recommend enough. Go with gimhana, you won't be disappointed!
