The guide Raphael was incredible! His knowledge is profound and he did not hold back on interesting information. He had a fabulous way of communicating facts and figures, but he also had a great sense of humour which was highly appreciated. The whole experience was both intellectually stimulating and entertaining. I would certainly highly recommend this tour!
A thoughtful presentation of the multiple invaders and their impact on Spain then and now. Discussed the attempts at cooperation to eradication of differing groups . All linked to the style of buildings and gardens in a stunning series of palaces and gardens .
Overall it was a good visit. The guide was clear and gave a lot of valuable information. The Nasrid palaces are incredible. However, the visit did not include a visit to the Alcazaba. We did that on our own. Although we booked the visit only in Spanish, our visit was done in Spanish and English. The agency needs a lot of organization and communication with clients. They informed me of the meeting point at the entrance to the Alhambra, however, they changed the meeting point to a nearby hotel, but they never informed me. Fortunately I was able to phone ahead to ask why I couldn't find the guide. In addition to that, the guide did not wait for us when we had to go to the bathroom nor did he tell us exactly where to reach the group, which caused us to get lost and delayed the visit. All of this would have been avoided with better communication.
It is an amazing place to visit. Glad I included it in my itinerary. The guide was excellent but rush a bit. It is understandable because of the large crowds but this may be a once in a life time trip for many tourists. It was not inexpensive. I will consider other forms of guided tours in my future adventures.
The tour was not fun. It was an English speaking tour and most of the time we were with a bus driver who did not speak English and did not even talk with the Spanish speaking members of the group. He was very unfriendly. We were dropped off without saying how we were to be picked up. After the tour ended we were given incorrect directions of where to exit and where to find the bus. Our bus group had 15 individuals. After leaving the bus we were combined with another group of 15, so the group increased to 30 people with one tour guide. The group was too large and the tour guide had lots of trouble keeping everyone together. Due to the large number, the tour took longer than the intended 3 hours. This became a problem because we were supposed to have 2 hours in Granada. We arrived in Granda just when all the restaurants were closing for siesta.
