Pass By: Langstrasse, Zürich, Switzerland

Langstrasse is one of the most interesting streets in Zurich. It is a diverse nightlife area and offers culinary delights with many restaurants, bars and clubs. Langstrasse connects the hip urban districts 4 and 5 and has a lot of culture to offer. Many people from all over the world are drawn to this place. A wide variety of people live together here and it can get loud and happy at the weekend.

Stop At: Kasernenareal, Militärstrasse 45, 8004 Zürich, Switzerland

The old barracks area is now a small oasis in the middle of the city and offers space for cozy hours. There is a restaurant and an open-air cafe. Various events and concerts take place in summer.

Duration: 5 minutes

Stop At: Helvetiaplatz, 8004 Zürich, Switzerland

Helvetiaplatz in Stadtkreis 4 is one of the largest squares in Zurich. Weekly markets, concerts and other events take place here. The square also hosts many political events and is a popular starting and ending point for demonstrations. With a drink in the historic Cafe Bank or the Cafe Campo, you can watch the hustle and bustle on the square.

Duration: 5 minutes

Stop At: Idaplatz, 8003 Zürich, Switzerland

Idaplatz is located in the middle of the beautiful Sihlfeld district in Zurich district 3. This district has become an insider tip in recent years. There are many local shops, bakeries, cafes and restaurants. Every spring, the cherry blossoms on the trees wrap the quarter in a kitschy fairytale landscape. For many locals, Idaplatz is the meeting point for an after-work beer. The mild summer nights can be wonderfully enjoyed at Idaplatz.

Duration: 5 minutes

Stop At: Bullingerplatz, Bullingerpl., 8004 Zürich, Switzerland

Another insider tip is Bullingerplatz in district 4. This is the place with the longest sunshine. People like to sit around the big fountain and chat until late at night. The Cafe du Bonheur is definitely worth a visit.

Duration: 5 minutes

Stop At: Frau Gerolds Garten, Geroldstrasse 23, 8005 Zürich, Switzerland

Frau Gerolds Garten is a hip, spacious and urban city garden with lots of greenery, connected to bars and shops made from old freight containers. On warm days you can linger here with a cold drink and good food. This is definitely a hotspot in Zurich. It can get really crowded here on the weekends. There are also concerts and other events from time to time. The surrounding area also has a lot of culture to offer with various music clubs, restaurants and a standing surfing wave. Yes, you heard me right! Urban Surf is the name of this location including bar and restaurant. Surfboards can be borrowed.

Pass By: Josefwiese, Josefstrasse 197, 8005 Zürich, Switzerland

The Josefswiese is one of the most beautiful parks in Zurich in district 5.

Pass By: Im Viadukt, Viaduktsrasse, Zurich 8005 Switzerland

The old railway viaduct is a mixture of shopping street and cultural center. Many small shops from local brands as well as restaurants and a market hall. The disused train route now serves as a footpath and cycle path, which of course we don't want to miss.

Stop At: Flussbad Oberer Letten, Lettensteg 10, Zurich 8037 Switzerland

The Lettenareal is "the" recreation zone in the city. Where trains used to run on railway tracks, all sorts of city dwellers now jog, skate, play or swim and enjoy the water and fresh air. The baths in the upper and lower Letten are meeting places for many people in Zurich. In summer it can sometimes be difficult to find a place on the meadow.

Stop At: Platzspitz, Platzpromenade 5 next to the Swiss National Museum, Zurich 8000 Switzerland

The Platzspitz Zurich is one of the oldest parks in the city right next to the State Museum behind the main train station. It is centrally located between the two rivers Limmat and Sihl. At the end there is an interesting but also tragic story from Zurich to hear.

I was in Zurich for less than two days, so I had to find a tour that showed me a lot and didn't take all day. Ray's bike tour fit the bill! I went on Sunday which had much less traffic. We saw a lot, and enjoyed biking the smooth streets of Zurich. Ray is very friendly and considerate, and did everything to make our tour smooth and enjoyable. Thanks, Ray!

Great way to start your visit in Zurich. The bike route was good as we were able to see the main spots as well as best swimming spots. Ray spent extra minutes touring us around but It would have been perfect if he had given more commentaries for more information. Overall, i would still recommend this tour.

Excellent tour with Ray who was a fantastic guide. Having grown up in Zurich he showed us places the locals enjoy. Bikes were comfortable and it was an easy ride that doesn’t need much cycling experience. Ray had a selection of helmets for anyone who wanted one and was great with road awareness and safety - with most of the tour being on small streets or bike paths. A great way to get orientated for central Zurich.
