When reaching the reservation line at the Accadamia I was directed to an address on my receipt. After locating the building, a PRIVATE multi apartment building, we found a sign propped up on the ground against the building. After a certain amount of time a unidentified man asked if we we wanted to tour the museum, pulling tickets out of his pockets. Reluctantly showing our La Vacanza Travel receipt he put us in a line to the far right if any entrances and proceeded to hawk tickets he held in his pockets. Long past our entrance time we were directed to join the long lines. No one at the Accademia ticket office would acknowledge your receipt except to point out we were in the wrong place. Have friends who had purchased tickets for a fall visit and advised them to SKIP La Vacanza Travel's line. Very unorganized system!
Seems initally sketchy but ticket providers were very friendly and delivered the experience as promised.
Horrible experience. Don’t purchase through La Vacanza Travel. We bought “skip the line” tickets for 11am (Academia Gallery to see David) and it ended up being a scam. They didn’t even have that slot available for us when we arrived and had to come back 5 hours later to get entry. This then caused us to upend all our plans for the afternoon and we only had a day and a half in Florence. I complained to La Vacanza Travel and they offered no solutions or compensation. Buyer beware.
Fast service, guide right in front of the gallery. Best way to enter! Enjoyed the gallery, February not too many people inside.
Loved seeing the statue of David didn't love picking up a dodgy 2nd hand ticket from a man in an alley.
