Overview

Enjoy an half day small group tour to discover the beauty of the Tuscan wine country. Drive through vineyards, olive groves and cypress trees. Visit 2 wineries to discover the secrets of wine making, take pictures and taste different wines and olive oil paired with local Tuscan specialties.

What Can You Expect?

Itinerary

Drive through the Tuscan wine country while your guide introduces you to the great wine culture of Tuscany, sharing interesting info about what you will experience, see and do.
Stop to the first winery and taste 3 or more wines, olive oil...
Enjoy a short ride admiring the marvellous Tuscan countryside, to the second wine estate, where a tasty cold cuts platter is served and paired with a selection of wines, olive oil, etc.

  • Professional and informative English-speaking driver/guide to lead you through the experience
  • Guided visit to 2 different wine estate
  • Tasting of 3 wines and olive oil at the first winery
  • Tasting of 3 wines and olive oil at the second winery paired with local Tuscan specialties (cheese, salami, cured ham and bruschetta)

  • Minimum age to join the tour is 12 years old; infants are not allowed
  • Drinking age is 18 years old
  • Not wheelchair accessible
  • Due to a few stairs to access wine cellars, this tour is not accessible for those using a wheelchair
  • Vegetarian & gluteen free, can be accommodated, please advise at time of booking under special requirements.
  • Near public transportation
  • Wines tasted: reds typical of the Chianti region ( normally Chianti Classico, Riserva, Super Tuscans, Gran Selezione, etc.).
  • Operates rain or shine, please dress appropriately
  • Luggage can be stored on the bus during the tour, if needed
  • Return at departure point: 1:45pm for the 9.00am tour - 7:00pm for the 2:30pm tour. To reserve other activities, allow plenty of time, in case of heavy traffic, etc.
  • Visited wineries may vary depending on their availability, etc.; they may be 2 of the following Fattoria Montecchio, Casa Emma, San Michele a Torri, Villa Poggio Torselli, Podere Anselmo, Casa di Monte, Villa Collazzi, Villa i Langi, Tenuta San Vito, etc.
  • This tour/activity will have a maximum of 25 travelers

The trip and experience were really great, our guide Johnathan and driver Irene were both great. The small group definitely felt more intimate than larger tours. The 2 locations we went to were amazing, especially the second location with the 2 sisters in law, they were a hoot! The scenery is breathtaking of course. I definitely recommend this tour I do have one negative comment and it is directed to ‘corporate’ for lack of a better term. The 5 back row seats are hideously uncomfortable with half the legroom of the rest of the bus! These seats should not be sold to people! Don’t be a greedy corporation and allow the backseat to be for peoples bags, umbrellas and purchases, after all by the end of the trip over half the tour had purchased stuff and was holding it in their laps. I don’t think your profit margin will be that affected by the loss of those back seats.

This tour was a lot if fun and the guide was really excellent. We visited two vineyards and both had great wine and very friendly owners who enjoyed talking about their wine. Our guide spoke English and Italian like a native, as well as German. He had a great sense of humor and was the star of the show. The second winery was in a very historic old house/fort that had been added onto many times since the 12th century. The two ladies who run the winery were fun, lively and kept us laughing.

Our tour guide Jason was terrific! He made the bus ride fun and kept us laughing. He went over and above helping me cancel a reservation for dinner that night when I couldn’t reach the restaurant. The two people at our vineyards were also wonderful and welcoming with delicious snacks at both wineries. Would highly recommend!
