I was happy to snag these tickets at the last minute (day before) as previous plans had fallen through. When we arrived at the meeting place, there were many groups and it was difficult to find which one had our tickets. We found the right group by asking each person who seemed to have a list. The man we were directed to didn’t have us on the list. I told him we had booked last night and he called someone to confirm. Once confirmed, we were handed our tickets and told to get in line. We did not get a guided tour but I was grateful to have the tickets and experience the Accademia anyway.
Seeing Michelangelo's David was great, but the tour I would not recommend. We waited 20 minutes outside in the heat for people who were late (they never showed up). We ended up missing our time and had to wait longer. Our guide rambled and rambled and rambled. Everyone in our group (6 people ... 4 I didn't know) looked checked out and bored. I have a degree in art history and studied abroad in Florence back in the day and a lot of the information our guide shared wasn't even applicable. It was like she talked to fill up the time.
This was a lovely tour of the museum. Lara was such a lovely person and so informed on all of the history of the art and the artist. I so very much enjoyed this tour and will book it again if ever back to Florence with friends. I recommended highly
Really glad we paid to skip the incredibly long line, and the intelligent, knowledgeable guide made the experience so much more meaningful. Highly recommend this tour.
The tickets they provided worked fine and we did get to skip the line, but they failed to provide a tour guide and the title of the activity literally says “guided tour”. Not satisfied as we paid extra to have a tour guide and did not get one.
