Interactive Batik Workshop and Lessons in Sri Lanka

Itinerary

This unique Batik workshop will be conducted in a very interactive and engaging manner. It will give you a deep understanding of Traditional Wax Batik & Batik painting technology. The end-to-end process of picking a fabric drawing and finally completing the waxwork will be covered, with the attendees getting an opportunity to try out all the relevant steps on their own under the watchful guidance of our instructor.

· Tools: - Funnel / Tjanting / Henry tool
· Wax spraying
· Stamping
· Cracking
· Brush arts
· Wax designing
· Dyes & applications
· Dye mixtures & techniques: - Naphthol Dyes / Vat dyes / Reactive dyes
· Wax burning & Wax boiling (De waxing)

What to Expect

Hands On Experience:
You will get to create your own Batik Cloth under the watchful guidance of the Batik Expert

Traditional Setting:
Our Workshop is conducted by a very experienced couple. They have been in the industry for many decades. Their home studio is nice and cozy and has all the traditional equipment

Tea and Lunch:
A refreshing herbal tea and a traditional Sri Lankan Rice and Curry prepared using local vegetables will be served

• Lunch - A traditional Sri Lankan lunch comprising of rice and curry made with seasonal veggies
• All tools and equipment needed for the Batik workshop
• Cloth and other material that will needed for the program
• All Fees and Taxes
