Overview

You will have a great Sri Lankan cooking experience. First you will get idea about Sri Lankan spices and vegetables, after that we teach you how to make rice and curry.

What Can You Expect?

We offer pickup from the hotel. After that, we will have a welcome drink of tea or coffee. We will explain about the spices and vegetables. You can choose what to make as a curry and you can cut and chop the vegetables. We will teach you how to cook it. Finally, you can eat the meal.

Dishes will be customizable based on daily market offerings, preferences and dietary restrictions. Choose from a variety of fresh, local vegetables and ingredients. Every gathering is different!

We had tons of fun, learned a lot and ate very well. Sudesh and his family welcomed us very kindly at their home and organized everything flawlessly. Nandini, the chef, instructed us perfectly, taught us about different spices and even showed us how to make our own coconut milk. In total we cooked six different curries, which we very much enjoyed afterwards. Also the pick up from the hotel to the cooking class and the drop off afterwards worked out perfectly. If you are in Kandy definitely book a class (it takes about 3,5-4h).

We had an amazing experience at this cooking class. It was great to learn about authentic Sri Lankan cuisine, spices and ingredients. The ladies that teach the class show you how to prepare the vegetables, spices and make coconut milk. The meal was delicious afterwards.

My teenage sons and I really enjoyed the market tour and cooking class with a local family. The ladies were so friendly and gave us lots of information about all the produce for sale at the market and then got everyone involved in cooking up an authentic Sri Lankan feast. We then all sat down to enjoy everything we had made.

A great experience to meet and cook local traditional food. The instructure is a lovely woman. She gives instructions about how to: prepare vegetables, season dishes, open/peel a coconut and many more. I would definetly recommend this during your trip!
