Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: D-Day Beaches (Plages du Debarquement de la Bataille de Normandie), Comite Regional de Tourisme de Normandie 14 Rue Charles Corbeau, Evreux, 27000 France

We will take you for a guided tour of the Landing Beaches in Normandy including Arromanche where can be seen the remains of a Mulberry harbor. Built thanks to Churchill's vision within a few days after D-Day.

On the way to Omaha beach, visit the site of the powerful German battery at Longues-sur-mer.
Continue with Omaha Beach and the moving Normandy American cemetery where 9385 Carrara marble crosses stand aligned. A memorial, inscribed with a map of the operations stands in the central alley and in the back, there is a museum.

Drive and stop along the beach where your guide will show you some of the German bunkers and machine-gun nests.

One of the most impressive site in Normandy, is perhaps Pointe du Hoc where the 2nd battalions of specially trained Rangers under the command of colonel James Earl Rudder captured the position by assault at dawn on 6 June, scaling the cliffs with ropes and extendible ladders

Return to Paris

Duration: 8 hours

Stop At: Vestiges du Port de Mulberry, Rue Lucien Joly Arromanches beach, 14117 Arromanches-les-Bains France

We will take you for a guided tour of the Landing Beaches in Normandy including Arromanche where can be seen the remains of a Mulberry harbor. Built thanks to Churchill's vision within a few days after D-Day. This "temporary" port was used to disembark an army with all the men and supplies necessary to liberate Europe. It is one of the most extraordinary industrial and maritime achievement of the war.

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Batterie Allemande de Longues-Sure-Mer, West of Arromanches-les-Bains, Longues-sur-Mer France

On the way to Omaha beach, visit the site of the powerful German battery at Longues-sur-mer. In spite of the heavy bombing on the night before, the German ‘pill boxes’ and their 150 mm guns were still operational on the morning of 6 June and they began firing at the allied battleships.

Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Omaha Beach, Avenue de la Liberation, Saint-Laurent-sur-Mer France

Continue with Omaha Beach and the moving Normandy American cemetery where 9385 Carrara marble crosses stand aligned. A memorial, inscribed with a map of the operations stands in the central alley and in the back, there is a museum.

The name ‘Omaha Beach’ which until 6 June 1944 existed only as an operational code name, has continued to jointly designate the beaches of three villages, Colleville, Saint-Laurent and Vierville, in memory of the soldiers of the 1st American division who landed there and suffered the heaviest casualties on D-Day. Drive and stop along the beach where your guide will show you some of the German bunkers and machine-gun nests.

Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

Stop At: Pointe du Hoc, 14450 Cricqueville-en-Bessin France

One of the most impressive site in Normandy, is perhaps Pointe du Hoc where the 2nd battalions of specially trained Rangers under the command of colonel James Earl Rudder captured the position by assault at dawn on 6 June, scaling the cliffs with ropes and extendible ladders but not without heavy losses – 135 rangers out of 225, key action for the success of D-Day.

We had booked with a different tour guide, based on TripAdvisor recommendations, but Covid intervened and Brigitte Simon agreed to be our guide. She could not have been better!. We visited the coastal beaches from Arromanches-les-Bains, site of a Mulberry harbor, to Omaha Beach. She had maps, pictures, and knew all the history and military strategies used during the D-Day invasion. We had a wonderful lunch at a restaurant on a working harbor (whose name I forget) and toured the American Cemetery. It is FAR superior to have Brigitte take you on a full day of touring in her very comfortable vehicle, than to try to navigate the country roads yourself. It will be one of your favorite days in Normandy. It certainly was ours!

We had a wonderful day with Al. He picked us up right on time and the mini-bus was comfortable and clean. He's quite knowledgable and answered all our questions. I had requested a booster seat for my child and he had it ready to go. Al is a good driver and made the 3-hour trip from Paris enjoyable. We saw all the major points of interest listed in the description and also made a trip to a German cemetery. He was kind to my daughter and included her in his discussions which I really appreciated. I would highly recommend this tour for families who don't want to go on a large-group tour. You are able to customize the trip and make decisions on the fly. Thanks for a great day!

Our guide was fantastic. She was very knowledgeable and brought the history to life. She was a good driver, accommodated required breaks and recommended a great restaurant for lunch.
The only drawback was that the trip advertised that we would be picked up and dropped off at our hotel. Since we were staying a ways outside of Paris, we had to commute by bus and train to meet the guide.

Most powerful tour I have ever take. Walking along Utah and Omaha beaches was truly walking on hallowed ground. Thinking of the sacrifices made by my grandfathers generation was very emotional. Our tour guide Guy was far and away the best guide we have very had the pleasure to follow
