Writer belonging to the romantic current and accursed poet, Gérard de Nerval grew up in Valois, this region located around Compiègne, Senlis and Chantilly. Shortly before his death, in his last collection of short stories, Les Filles du feu, he looks back on the happy memories of his youth, the dreams and disillusions of love, in a story that is both full of charm and tinged with nostalgia.
