After departing Paris in the early morning by minivan, travel to the French region of Normandy for your D-Day landing beaches tour.
Stop at Pointe du Hoc, 90-foot (27-meter) cliffs where 225 rangers landed on the morning of June 6, 1944, and then continue to Colleville-sur-Mer to visit the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial, which overlooks Omaha Beach and is home to more than 9,000 white crosses perfectly aligned on 170 acres. A chapel and memorial add the finishing touches to this moving site that allows visitors to reflect on the price of war.
Then visit other WWII locations such as Arromanches and the vestiges of the artificial Mulberry harbor, Longues-sur-Mer, and the German artillery battery, which gave the Allied troops a lot of pushback on the morning of June 6th. This is the only coastal battery to have kept its guns, giving a picture of what an Atlantic wall gun emplacement was like.
Your day trip ends with return to Paris.

My tour checked all the boxes for my bucket-list of walking on Omaha Beach and seeing where the US soldiers came ashore on D-Day. I also got to see Point-du-hoc and explore the German fortifications.
Our tour guide was excellent and very informative. She also put up with my desire to stay a bit longer at Omaha Beach and I appreciate her understanding. My one suggestion would be to point out the locations of German bunkers still in existence at Omaha Beach and tell us where the bunkers, now gone, were located June 6, 1944. I would have liked to have seen and been able to spend some time at the monuments and statues at Omaha Beach. We weren't given that opportunity. These are minor inconveniences compared to the wonderful experience I enjoyed at the American Cemetery at Normandy. My guide was instrumental in creating a personal visit and ceremony at the grave site of a family member who died during the Normandy invasion. That visit to his grave site will never be forgotten and would not have happened were it not for my tour guide.
Thank you !

Our guide Nicolas was so great! He was very informative and funny. We saw so much on this trip, but of course we wish we saw more. There's just too much to see. We weren't able to spend as much time at the Overlord Museum as my husband would have liked. It had a huge collection of German, American and British artifacts. The place we stopped for lunch was wonderful. Great food. Overall it was a long day, but we saw so much! We would definitely recommend!

While in Paris recently my friend and I had the desire to take a day trip to Normandy - primarily Omaha Beach and the American cemetery. I have used La Vacanza Travel in the past and been pleased with the quality of the tour. This tour was the best I have taken with them. We had a very small group - just myself and my friend and one other couple. We met our guide Fabrice at the appointed time and place and left for the drive north. Our guide was excelllent. Very personable and extremely knowledgeable. He spoke excellent English and it was apparent right from the start that he was genuinely interested in making our trip as pleasant as possible and wanted to make sure we had the experience we hoped for when scheduling the tour. He pointed out sites along the way and did an excellent job of answering any and all of our questions. The vehicle was very comfortable and clean. We visited Pointe Du Hoc, Omaha Beach, the American cemetery and a museum. We had a nice lunch at a local place and even had time to stop in Arromanches. He returned us to Paris on time. It was an excellent day and I highly recommend this tour.
