Overview

This is no tour around a wildlife sanctuary. Instead, we head to one of a number of areas where you are likely to see wild kangaroos and possibly some native Australian birdlife. Our friendly knowledgeable guides aka ‘our kangaroo whisperers‘ are the best there are and will convey you to the Blue Mountains or Outer Sydney or further afield where we normally see many kangaroos, playing, eating, sleeping, etc. On some tours, we have seen over 100 kangaroos in the area on one day. These are wild animals in their natural surrounds. Depending on the day and how they are approached, you may see them lying on the ground, grazing, fighting, bounding away, playing, and generally enjoying themselves.

Please note that at times, we will upgrade you to the Urban Kangaroos tour at no extra cost at our discretion. At other rimes, we will take you to see Wallabies (a smaller species of kangaroo).

What Can You Expect?

Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: New South Wales, New South Wales

• Pickup from your Sydney based accommodation
• With your private tour guide, journey to an outer Sydney or Blue Mountains location where you are likely to see as many as 40 kangaroos. Your guide will explain some of the more interesting behaviours of the kangaroo.
• Travel back to your pickup location or optionally another city, North Sydney or Parramatta location (from Parramatta you can take a boat ride along the Parramatta river - ferry tickets are not included).

Native birds will often be seen (including sulphur crested cockatoos, kookaburras, rosellas, rainbow lorikeets, magpies, etc).

  • If child is less than 8 years, you must inform us prior to the trip so that we have a child seat with us and the tour can take place. This is a legal requirement.

Departure time is dependent on your pickup location and time of sunset. Normally it will be between 1:45pm and 5:30pm dependent on sunset and where the kangaroos are likely to be found. EXACT PICKUP TIME WILL BE ADVISED ON CONFIRMATION.

Bring your cameras. It is an advantage to wear enclosed shoes and long pants.

Bruce has the best excursion I have ever been on in my life. I have been on at least 500. He is the nicest most knowledgeable caring travel operator I have ever been with. My daughter and I saw a truly amazing amount of kangaroos. Bruce pointed out so many bits of information about many of the kangaroos and there environment and where to see them. I can’t even believe the incredible experience we had I am truly thankful and am sure there will never be another excursion that could ever surpass or be as incredible as this. Huge check off my bucket list.

We couldn't imagine traveling to Australia and not having a kangaroo experience but we're not into supporting zoos. Bruce's private guided excursion was the perfect answer! He picked us up at our hotel and filled our heads with all things kangaroo for the 45 min drive to the western suburbs of Sydney. Our excursion was early evening to catch the kangas during peak grazing time but I also liked that the timing allowed us to pack more into our day! While I get that there are no guarantees, let me say that we hit the "Kanga jackpot" with Bruce, observing no fewer than 30-40 kangaroos in their natural settings! Bruce knew just where to find them! We viewed some from his car but also got out and got close enough for great photos and observation, including moms with joeys in pouches and large males! I highly recommend this excursion with Bruce!

What a great experience! Bruce was right on time and we went out to Cattai National Park and saw soooo many kangaroos! He's so knowledgeable and has a great personality.

We had the most amazing sightngs of kangaroos in the wild... mothers and joeys, males fighting for control, as well as many local birds. All with commentary by our owner-guide Bruce. Cannot recommend more highly.
