Venice by night is steeped in mystery and the ghosts of the past! This 1.5-hour evening ghost walking tour takes you on a journey to the city’s hidden corners, with a ghost-expert guide who recounts some spooky ghost stories and other legends as you walk. Recoil at gruesome facts about Biasio, the child-killing butcher of Venice; see from outside the beautiful and reputedly haunted Bovolo staircase; and hear strange and sinister tales about the Venice of old as you explore the shadowy squares and empty streets. Not for the faint-hearted!

Discover the amazing architecture of Contarini Palace with its spiral staricase known as "Bovolo" (Venetian word that means snails) and elarn about its legend.

Duration: 10 minutes

Stop At: Riva del Carbon, Venice Italy

Many ghost stories refers to palaces, some of them now converted in hotels and our guide will entertain you with many stories and anecdotes related to people that have lived in here.

We go down this small alley, called Rio' Tera' degli Assassini (the street of the murderers), perfect setting for the many "scary" stories that took place in this secret corner of Venice.

The tour was very insightful into the history of Venice. Our tour guide was very friendly and showed us all the cool and spooky places in Venice

Our tour guide Christina was enthusiastic. The tour felt a little disorganized (some of which was unavoidable as the high tides meant flooding in areas of the city which we had to work around) but we felt like the stories didn’t match many of the areas we walked on the tour and some were not detailed or even scary. It was an ok experience.

It was very boring and the guide was inept. We left after the first hour. She rambled on. It was mostly stories. I went on a ghost tourin Venice many years ago and it was fantastic. This was not

Tour guide was funny and eccentric and tried her best to get the group involved. Some of the stories were good, but the tour guide wasn’t a natural born story teller, so it was hard to understand the point or the climax of some of the stories. Plus, for a city that has such an eerie atmosphere, especially at night, there aren’t actually that many creepy ghost stories or legends. The tour felt padded out with generic history as opposed to the macabre.

We look forward to an entertaining guide, scary ghost stories and some history...not sure this did much of that. The guide did not tell us his name, so cannot state that. We did walk alot and the headphones worked. Am also turned off by anti-Catholic side comments. Am sure there are many other groups that did even worse things all over Italy.
