Stop At: Mutianyu Great Wall, Mutianyu Village, Bohai Town, Huairou District, Beijing China

Take Mubus to get to the Mutianyu Great Wall from Beijing downtown. Upon arrival, your tour guide will save you hassle by buying the tickets for you, then drive you to the foot of the Mutianyu Great Wall, instead of making you queue for the shuttle bus. Once you've ascended the Wall, see and climb the impressive defensive watch towers to take in the serene scenery of streams and lush greenery that surround this section of the Great Wall.

After climbing the Great Wall, you can come back to the “Mubus Family” to relax. Located in the center of the Mutianyu scenic area, it is a special lounge area only reserved for the Mubus travelers, offering them with a comfortable place to rest, a restaurant with local specialties, beer and coffee. When you have buffet lunch on the viewing platform, you will appreciate a very magnificent scenery by the intersection of the two sections of the Great Wall here, Mutianyu Great Wall and Jiankou Great Wall which’s well-known “steepest Great Wall of China”. This is a memorable place to take photos.

I booked the tour with Michael and it was the best decision! They had clear instructions for a meeting point, shuttle bus to the great wall and Michael provided some hreat insights during the ride about the great wall! I would recommend everyone to book both the east and west side of the great wall as you can do both easily in one day, i did it and it was the best decision!

A fantastic way to see the Great Wall. This took all the stress out of getting to the Great Wall - yet gave us total flexibility when we got there. Everything was organised on the coach journey to the Wall and after a quick orientation at the Wubus family centre we were on the cable car up to the wall. We did Towers 20 - 1 - the complete section at Mutianyu - and descended for a fantastic lunch (definitely worth the extra for the lunch). I yea on descending and seeing the size of the quest of people on the way up that we fully realised the benefit of the early start and preparation on the coach on the way to Mutianyu. Cherry blossoms by Tower 20 were beautiful!

It was an amazing experience! The bus picked us up from the designated spot, where Mubus team checked our passport numbers to make sure that the information was correct because all of the tickets for lifts and entrances are electronic and they are associated with your passport number. On the way to Mutianyu Great Wall, our guide, Fred, gave us some history about the Great Wall and the two ways to visit the wall. It’s a East side that includes chairs lift going up and slide (toboggan) or lift going down. The price is 140 RNB round trip. This side includes watch towers from 6 to 1 going right. The other way to visit the West side of Great Wall is using cable car -140 RMB (round trip). This site includes all of the watch towers from 14 to 20. The 20 is highest point with spectacular views. The $25 that we paid the Mubus company includes bus transportation, English tour guide, shuttle bus and the entrance fee. You can also order a buffet lunch, but we skipped it because it was too early for us. Our tour started at 10 am from Beijing and around 11:30 am we arrived at the wall. Then Fred gave us the tickets that were already booked and we were ready to go and explore the area. We waited in line for an hour and a half to get on the lift on the east side. There, they checked our passports and we were off on the lift. Then, we explored the wall and took many beautiful pictures of the massive wall and the nature around it. There were many, many, many stairs, ranging from different heights, so if you have knee or leg problems, this isn’t the place for you. Later, we waited another hour and a half to get on the taboggan, which was really fun. Sadly, we didn’t have enough time to go on the west side, so I would recommend going on the side with less people first, whether it is the cable lift or the chair lift . Don’t worry if you booked and paid for both sides and didn’t have time to do it. The company offers a full refund for the tickets that you didn’t use.Then we went to the base and we got some souvenirs and snacks. Then we went back on the bus. The whole trip was very organized and it was an amazing trip.
