Meet your private English speaking driver in the lobby of hotel. Pick up time flexible based on you and season. We advise early starting for avoid of crowds and traffic . If you want to have sunset experience , you can start late afternoon. We will contact you in advance for exactly picking up time.

Stop At: Jinshanling Great Wall, Chengde Shi, Luanping County 068250 China

You will start hiking from Jinshanling part great wall ,and end at Simatai west. It will take about 3 hours to complete the hiking. This section offers arguably the finest hiking anywhere on the Great Wall. It is extremely photogenic, with over 15 watch-towers, and steep gradients that give constantly changing perspectives and wide, open views. There is fascinating variety in the watch-towers here. Some have two stories, others three. Some have flat roofs, others rounded and others again are pitched with upturned eaves. This section of the wall is wild, ruined, preserved and original. On a clear day, it is difficult to fail to take good photographs here.

A lunch at a local farmer’s restaurant if you need( Lunch fee on your side ) . Driver will take you back to hotel if do not need lunch.

Simatai Great wall located inside of Gubei Water Town , To be honest , you can not hike to there from Jinshanling, but you can hiking to Simatai west which we name it Jinshanling East gate.

Leo went far and beyond what was called of him for me on my trip to Beijing. He not only arranged a English speaking driver to take me to the wall but also informed me and answered a multitude of questions I had about Beijing! We hired a driver for the day to take our family of 4 to the jinshaling section of the wall. Needless to say it was the highlight of our China trip. Andy was our driver (B package) and he picked us up promptly at the agreed time at the hotel. Andy was a safe and informative driver - who drove us there safely and back. He was a wealth of information and spoke perfect English - gave us some tips and helped us get our tickets and set us on our way. He was then patient and waited for us to return. With little children that section of the wall took 4.5hrs to complete but it was amazing!!! Loved every minute of it! Having a private driver helped to make the trip out there easier as it was a good 2.5 hr drive from Beijing.

My guide/driver Mr. Ma punctually waited for me at the hotel lobby holding a sign with my name on it. He was friendly, courteous and attention to details. He brought me a water, some snacks and even an extra jacket in case I didn't dress warm enough! It was a perfect Autumn day to hike the Jinshanling Great Wall. Mr. Ma was very knowledgeable about the Great Wall and its history. He told me many stories that the two hours drive just flew by. He dropped me off at the East gate and I strolled leisurely toward the west. I wasn't hurried at all and took many stops to enjoy the breathtaking views! I made it to the West gate in just under 3 hours, walked down to the visitor center and Mr. Ma was there waiting for me to take me back to my hotel. I highly recommend this trip!

Sept 26 2019 Our driver Tim was excellent, picked us up from hotel, drive up to JInshanling base area. We then carried on on our own up to the top and the tower and started walking west along the wall, finally taking a path down to the east gate through a forested area, where Tim was waiting for us. We were lucky to have fabulous weather, 30c clear still with wonderful views. I would say that as we went west the condition of the wall became worse and some steep steps needed an effort to climb and caution needed, although it felt more authentic for it.

After doing a bit of research online, we decided that we wanted to visit the Jinshanling part of the wall with the expectation that it would be less ‘touristy’, and that we could spend a good few hours walking along it and taking in the sights. This was absolutely the case, and we are so glad we picked this tour option. Our driver Larry (who is also a guide) was excellent. He gave us a great talk about the Wall on our drive up, and on arrival at Jinshanling showed us where he’d pick us up (at the end of the walk) and then drove us to the starting point. Afterwards he took us to a local farmer’s restaurant where we enjoyed several delicious dishes. We spent a good few hours walking the Wall. Our party was four adults and two children - aged 12 and 10. It is a decent hike - so take water, snacks etc. and also check the weather forecast - it can be a lot cooler than Beijing.
