Originally a hunting lodge, it was rebuilt in 1742 to its present impressive appearance. Inside are extensive collections, including the oldest German billiard table, dating from 1720. There is a museum of furniture and porcelain from Meissen, Dresden and Asia, a collection of tapestries and a collection of hunting trophies. The most valuable antlers are from Russia, said to have been brought as a gift from the Russian Tsar Peter I. An interesting feature is the feather room, called the Federzimmer. The entire bed is covered with nearly two million bird feathers of various colours. You will also be fascinated by the furniture, paintings and leather wallpaper with drawings.
