Imagine strolling the actual battlefield made famous by the films Zulu and Zulu Dawn! Imagine standing where Lt. Chard stood, or Lt. Bromhead, or Lt. Curling; imagine standing on the firing line at Isandlwana as thousands of Zulu warriors race towards you!

On this amazing day tour you'll get to walk the very ground that the British and Zulu fought on.

You will be accompanied by a qualified and passionate guide who will help you gain a deeper understanding about the events that happened at Rorkes Drift and Isandlwana in 1879.

On the way to the battlefields your guide will point out interesting sites along the way and also get to experience the beautiful landscape of KwaZulu Natal.

You will have an opportunity to view the site that the British so famously defended on the 22/23rd January of 1879. There is a small museum to explore and then your tour guide will describe what happened on this amazing day!

Stop At: Isandlwana Battlefield, Isandlwana South Africa

At this site, you will get to walk onto the battlefield where on the 22nd January 1879, the Zulu army descended onto unprepared British positions and destroyed the British camp.

Viewing the battlefields from tge approach and the peace and beauty of Rorke's Drift. Our guide Shelldon had a wide abd detailed knowledge of the Anglo Zulu war, the individuals involved and Zulu traditions and culture. He brought the subject alive for us and tge whole day was an immensely enjoyable experience. His knowledge of birds was a real bonus and he helped us identify the species we saw.

An absolutely wonderful day out with Shelldon at Isandwala and Rorkes Drift. We were hesitant at first thinking we could save some money and do it on out own ! We are so so glad we didn't, Shelldons knowledge on the two sites is absolutley unmatched , we had stories from start to finish on the road and we certainly wouldn't have known all the amazing spots we were driving past had we done it ourselves. We had a wonderful time putting together the events that took place in these historical battlefields ! While it is a long drive it was worth every minute in the car as Shelldon told us amazing stories and educated us on so many different topics ! Keep doing what your doing Shelldon honestly your expertise are rare and have made a lasting impression on all of us who joined your tour. We couldnt recommend this tour and our guide enough to amy future visitors ! Choni, Neil & Jamie.

Cannot praise the guide Sheldon highly enough for such an amazing day. An elite storyteller with a wealth of knowledge about not only the events on the days of the battles but the events leading up to and after those days. Sheldon makes you feel like you were actually there on the days it happened. The drive out is also astonishingly beautiful. Unforgettable day.
