Masada is an ancient palace overlooking the Dead Sea and the Judean desert. We take a cable car to the top and see how King Herod the Great turned the desert into a magnificent residence with luxury quarters, bathhouse and even a swimming pool.
Masada was also the last stand of the Jews in the revolt against the Romans in 73CE. We will learn how the Romans besieged the site and what happened to the Jews when the Romans finally breached the walls. It has become a symbol of determination, freedom and heroism.
