Itinerary
We will hike from Thendele Accommodation in the Royal National Park into the Gorge. The hike follows the contours of the Tugela river and is spectacular. After approximately 7 kilometres of hiking with good elevation we enter the forest area and you experience the beauty of the amphitheater and the huge cliffs of the Drakensberg. You can swim in the aqua pools, do some bolder hopping or just take the easier route along the cut routes. All routes will be discussed as we go to make sure it suits each clients fitness and experience. Once we reach the last gorge the amount of effort is rewarded with the beautiful rock formations and special colours. For the fit and experienced we can then discuss other options. There are many rock pools in this area and a picnic and rest here is welcomed before our track back to the accommodation.
