First of all, this is not a guided tour. It's just transportation and the lunch, nothing more. There will be no one with you on the islands to assist or answer your questions if needed. At the “Debarcadere” the agent will meet you and spend 15 seconds describing the program (departs from here at 9:00, will be on the island on 9:15, another boat will come at 10:00 for snorkelling, at 12:00 will take you to the waterfall, at 12:30 will go to the lunch, at 15:00 will go back to the mainland). Thank you and good bye. The boat pilot takes your shoes, throw them into a plastic bean then helps you to board an outdated boat with a small tent on the middle. A 10 minutes ride and you are on the first island, the boat captain throws your shoes on the sand, rinses the plastic bag in the sea and good bye. Here you are on your own for the next 3 hours, some agent will meet you and will try to sell the activities. During these 3 hours you have the option to: * stay on your towel on the sand - free * swim in a dirty water 0.50 meters deep - free * relax on some chair on the beach - 300 RS per person * take a snorkel tour - 1000 RS per person * water ski - 2500 - 3500 RS per person * water sofa tours - 1200 - 1500 per person * take a parasailing tour - 2500 RS The island itself and the beaches are absolutely nothing special, much worse than hundreds of other places on Mauritius. The activities are also low end but we booked a few because kids were completely bored. At 12:00 a speed boat will come and will take you to see the waterfall then will ride to another island for lunch. We didn't see the waterfall because we booked a parasailing tour and it took much longer than the information desk suggested (45 minutes instead of 15). The parasailing operator was confident the boat will wait us but unfortunately it didn't. When I arrived at 12:10 the boat was still there, I asked them to wait 2 minutes until I will help my family to come. They didn't say anything but the boat departed without us. As I remember all places on the boat were occupied, most probably they decided to join 2 tours in one. We were left on the island with absolutely no information. After some time, someone asked another operator to take us to the island where they serve the lunch. After 5-6 minutes ride we came to the lunch. Luckily, we still had the piece of paper given on initial boarding so we were allowed to seat at some dirty tables placed directly in bad smelling dirty water. The food was surprisingly good, grilled fish & chicken with a bit of rice and potato salad. A lot of drinks including alcohol, don't know how good it was - we took only water and soda. There is no toilet on the island so you have to "go in the nature" as suggested by some personnel. After the lunch you have to stay on the island for another 2 hours doing absolutely nothing except trying to find some shadow with less mosquitos. At 15:00 the boat will take you to the mainland if you are on time at the departure point. Do yourself a favour, there are a lot of much better things to do on Mauritius. Or at least choose another operator.
We had the best day with these guys! Perfect mix of being looked after and free time to relax and explore the island. The lunch is to die for! If you like seafood, hubby would definitely recommend you pay the extra and enjoy lobster on a tropical beach Thanks guys, it was an awesome day!
