Stop At: Marienplatz 1, 80331 Munich, Bavaria Germany
The Christkindlmarkt on Munich's Marienplatz, located in the heart of the city, is certainly the most famous.
The Christmas tree in front of the New Town Hall, decorated with 3,000 Christmas lights, offers an atmospheric eye-catcher. The fir tree is donated every year by a different tourist region.
From Marienplatz we can take a stroll through the famous food market, the Viktualienmarkt, to the Sendlinger Gate, where the next Christmas market is already waiting for us.
At the Isartor, the most beautiful of the three surviving Munich city gates, you will be greeted by the scent of the 'Munich Feuerzangenbowle', which is prepared in a 9,000-litre giant boiler. The ingredients rum, red wine and sugar pay particular attention to high quality.
Which of the Christmas markets listed here we will visit, you can decide flexibly on site - the process is never rigid, it always takes place in mutual agreement!

You should come to the "Medieval Christmas Market" around the equestrian statue of the Elector Maximilian I. if you want to mingle with Met among knights and jugglers. Don't be surprised if you meet men with helmet, shield and sword! Even women in the Burgfräulein-Costume and bird of prey on their arms are nothing unusual.
If you still need a Christmas present, you can choose between gold jewellery, lambskin and handmade drinking horns.
