I’d give 5 stars but this was not the tour we booked. We booked under the stars coliseum tour only be receive a message the next day saying ‘sorry it’s not available’ and offering us a day time experience or an alternative evening and as the alternative evening was right at the end of our stay in Rome we didn’t dare to book it for then in case they cancelled again - especially after reading other peoples reviews about this tour being cancelled! Anyway the day time tour under and in the coliseum was great and we really enjoyed it. I definitely recommend including the underground bit and seeing the network of tunnels used by the gladiators, coliseum staff and animals/prisoners alike! Fascinating! After the tour we were free to explore the stunning coliseum at our leisure which was great.
This was the tour I wanted to do. Company sold me tickets without securing them and then canceled on me two days before. Make sure your buying them or doing a tour with a company that actually has the tickets.
It was a bit confusing at the meeting point as there were many other tour groups waiting there too. The meeting sign was poor, it seemed other groups were joined with us & seemed a bit disorganised. Unfortunately one of the ticket names was incorrect which caused distress. However Morgana the tour guide inside was very knowledgeable. The underground & arena stage came to life & could imagine the original spectacular of the gladiators, lions, & spectators. The night was perfect, with a pink/orange sunset & a full moon. Also being away from the crowds of people by day made the experience so much better.
This was a wonderful and informative experience. We had a brilliant Hungarian Archeologist guide us through the masterpiece of the Collosseum and give us a precise historical story of Rome during its highest period. Her descriptions were to the point and her enthusiasm just grabbed your attention the entire time.
Après nous avoir donné rdv à 20:30 nous avons carrément été harcelé par téléphone et message pour nous imposer un rdv à 20:00.Une fois sur place nous avons attendu j us qu a 20:25 pour être conduits à l entrée du colisée et la nous nous sommes retrouvés sans guide !!! seules avec un couple de canadien soumis au même traitement que nous ! nous avons du faire le tour au pas de course, pressées par un employé du colisée qui nous disait de nous dépêcher si nous voulions apercevoir quelque chose ! À la sortie les deux pitres de 20:00 ont insulte les canadiens qui avaient pris de ne payer qu un acompte et qui se refusaient à payer le reste !!! nous sommes restés tous les 4 un moment de peur de nous faire agresser car les deux types nous ont suivi un moment !!! C est une honte ! J exige un remboursement !!
