In Spring 2019. ‘Room on the Broom - A Magical Journey’, brings to life yet another of author Julia Donaldson and illustrator Axel Scheffler’s much-loved children’s stories, following in the footsteps of the Resort’s Gruffalo River Ride Adventure. Park clean and tidy with great rides and singing shows for toddlers. Lots of animals to see and educational animal shows throughout the day.

Travelled from the Midlands down to this place. Headed to the Hub to pick up Access Passes. Waited in a 45 minute queue to be told we couldn't use the Access Pass as needed to book rides in advance. How are we are supposed to know this when they didn't let us know????!!!!! Apparently we should have had an email about it but we didn't receive it. The park still didn't accommodate us so we had to leave the park. A very upsetting experience for our son with autism. This should have been his birthday treat but the staff here ruined it for him. We are 😠 furious.

We took so many amazing photos! Ian and Charlie were brilliant for the red fox experience. Ian went out of his way to make sure I got the red fox experience. The giraffe experience was brilliant! Amazing hotel, very friendly staff but the food in the hotel was very expensive. Overall, a great time!

This is a long one but stick with me. It’s worth it. My wife & I booked an overnight stay at the end of the Easter holidays to make the most out of our girl’s inset day and quieter park. Turns out 9 rides, a restaurant, sweet shop and the safari were closed. We weren’t pre-warned about any of it and when we raised concerns in the park we were told we had been informed. Girls were devastated and had more fun in the garden centre down the road (brilliant spot for lunch if you’re nearby). Below is Chessington’s customer service agents response to my complaint followed by my reply. There’s some other bits I complained about but you’ll get the jist of it below. Dear Guest, Thank you for your email, I am saddened to hear that your experience was interrupted by a family that was using inappropriate language, it is unacceptable and I will make sure the relevant department deals better with situations like this. In terms of your experience at the restaurant, It is disappointing to hear that the food at dinner was not to your taste. The chef's try to make a range of options that will suit the majority of guest's needs and preferences, however there will unfortunately be times they are not able to suit everyone. It has come to our knowledge that the Hotel staff did investigate your claims with the catering team, they did conclude there was no findings of the circumstances you have described. Nor can we locate any similar reports of this from other guests throughout the duration of your stay. I apologise that you didn't get a chance to go on the safari. Unfortunately, despite regular and intensive early morning maintenance checks, a number of mechanical problems arose on the date of your visit which resulted in a series of closures. We do of course appreciate that your family’s visit to Chessington is to enjoy all the attractions that we have to offer and the decision to close a ride is only taken when absolutely necessary. Kind Regards, Martin Customer Services Agent Chessington World Of Adventures Resort My response: This is my reply: Martin, I wasn’t making a complaint about dinner. It was the state of the food at breakfast which I had an issue with. My comment on dinner was the fact that we had been crammed into a smaller section of the restaurant. The food and service was brilliant. You probably would’ve benefited by reading the complaint properly and taking some time to send an adequate response that answered the concerns I had raised instead of just sending something back that I’d expect from a company that doesn’t pride itself in customer satisfaction with actual customer service agents. You’ve just totally contradicted a couple of your colleagues with regards to the park ride closure statements as well. My wife and I spoke to a worker from the park as well as a gentleman that was working in the guest information section. Both Informed us that they were planned closures and that we should’ve been informed. When we said we hadn’t, we were made to feel like we were in the wrong because they were adamant we would have been told. I mean, if 9 rides and a pizza restaurant/ sweet shop had all of a sudden developed mechanical issues that were missed during the regular morning maintenance then this surely should’ve raised a cause for concern with regards to the rest of the park? (I’m from a mechanical background and I can assure you that mass mechanical failure of equipment would result in me immediately inspecting everything to ensure everything was safe to operate.) Or maybe it could be down to the planned maintenance work that we were told had been scheduled for after the Easter holidays during our conversation with the man in guest information? All of the above could’ve been adequately addressed if you’d have notified customers who paid nearly £400 for a hotel stay and a park visit. Like I said previously, we would’ve spent the day in the park on Sunday when everything was operating as described and then gone in the splash park etc on the Monday when you were experience “mass unexpected mechanical issues”. Either way, I’ll be placing this conversation including my original complaint to trust pilot etc. your response, if you can call it that, is laughable if I’m honest. Thanks Andy Make of it what you will but if anything this shows a massive failure in customer service, aftercare, ride safety I mean the list could go on and on. Moral of the story if you want to pay £400 for cold breakfast and a lunch in the garden centre down the road then by all means go for it..
