I absolutely adored this experience. This was not touristy AT ALL and was in a true block printing factory. Getting to watch the artisans design these incredible fabrics was so eye-opening. This is a beautiful art. The class itself was really educational and enjoyable. I got to make a beautiful scarf and really enjoyed designing it. Getting to first hand try block printing was really fun! Highly recommend this tour in Jaipur. It was truly one of my favorite experiences!
It was great to learn about the history of block printing and hear about each step on the hand block printing, for example carving the blocks and making the colours. We watch some amazing printing being done in the warehouse and then we had a go ourselves and printed a scarf each. This was an amazing experience that we both really enjoyed and Monty and the team were lovely! Thank you!
Amazing day, we felt completely welcome the second we got to the factory and were shown around the different rooms whilst Monty explained the different steps to block printing. We made our way up to the top floor to start our own block printing and the process was explained in huge detail by Monty which resulted in the beautiful outcome of our scarfs, I felt so much more knowledgeable after the class. I really recommend!
We had the most fantastic morning at the handblock printing class with Monty! We learnt so much about this traditional process and made beautiful scarves, picking our own colour schemes and patterns. Monty and his team were so friendly and helpful, and made us feel at home with a tour around the factory and some delicious Masala Chai. We would 100% recommend this experience to anyone visiting Jaipur. We only wish we had more time so that we can also join Monty’s cooking class too.
Monty was a super friendly and engaging guide. We learned about the history of block printing, the technique, and then got to print our own cloth. A great hands on experience!
