    During our recent visit to Kumarakom, Kerala, my partner and I had the pleasure of embarking on a scenic backwater shikara ride with Canoe Kerala. This experience was truly unforgettable, offering a unique perspective of the stunning backwaters that we would highly recommend to anyone visiting the region. The shikara, a small, luxurious motorboat, was equipped with comfortable seating and shade, ensuring a relaxing and enjoyable journey. Vimal made the tour truly special, taking us through the sights and sounds of local village life and introducing us to the region's serene backwater village culture.The level of personalization and attention to detail was impressive. Whether you're looking for a relaxing shikara ride, an exciting kayaking adventure, or a chance to immerse yourself in the local culture, Canoe Kerala has something for everyone.

    This is an amazing experience we would reccomend to everyone visiting Kumarakom and the area. They are super friendly and show you a lot of local life. We did the 3 hours trip in the morning, but we are sure the other tours are worth it as well. Thank you!

    Wonderful experience after being told by our hotel that canoe trips could not be done and cancelled ours as there were too many reeds in the river! Well they had not been cancelled and only once or twice were there reeds which our guide steered through with total ease The views at sunrise were beautiful, the serenity on the canals with almost no other ‘traffic’ was incredible and we managed to see all manner of wild birds, water snakes and other interesting wildlife Definitely a must do for any traveller to Kerala

    The tour with Sunu was everything promised by them. It was great to hear up close and personal with the local villagers at the tea stop and temple/school walk. Sunrise was just magical and we saw some unforgettable sights of local farmers and workers on the backwaters. We just felt the tour did not quite live up to the expectations presented in the reviews we read. No visit to a Toddy Shop as an example and not as much information offered. None the less, very highly recommended.

    We took a sunrise trip with Sanu in his small boat with an awning. It meant we were close to the water to see things in detail but a stable boat so no wobbling! Watching the sun rise as a red ball above the trees was special. The bird life on the water is exceptional and Sanu knew much about what we were seeing. We travelled down a number of small canals and stopped for a welcome cup of tea in a village. Taking a boat trip from Kamarakom is highly recommended as there are few other boats out on the water and for most of our trip there were none. A very special experience which will stay in our memories a long time.
