Emperor Jahangir built his celebrated Shalimar Bagh, his dream project to please his queen. He
enlarged the ancient garden in 1619 into a royal garden and called it ‘Farah Baksh’ (‘the delightful’).
He built it for his wife Nur Jahan (‘light of the world’)

The Nishat Bagh is a 12 terraced garden located near Srinagar's famous Dal Lake. It was built by
the elder brother of Empress Noor Jahan named Asif Khan who also designed the layout of the
gardens and it is opened in year 1633..
The garden lies on the banks of Dal Lake with mountain Zabarwan as its backdrop.

Day 2: Srinagar
Stop At: Shankaracharya Hill, Srinagar India
This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is believed to be one of the oldest shrines in the Kashmir
Valley. It is named after the great philosopher, Shankaracharya, who visited the valley about 10
centuries ago

This is one of the Mughal gardens built in 1632 AD around a spring by Ali Mardan Khan, a governor
of Mughal emperor Shah Jahan. It was a gift for his eldest son Prince Dara Shikoh.

The Pari Mahal was built by Mughal Prince Dara Shikoh in the mid-1600s. It served as a library and
an abode for him. It was used as an observatory, useful for teaching astrology and astronomy.

After breakfast we will visit the most famous mosque in Srinagar. According to local beliefs, it houses
Moi-e-Muqqadas – the sacred hair of Prophet Muhammad's beard.

Day 3: Gulmarg

Drive from Srinagar to Gulmarg

The temple is picturesquely perched on a hill and is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The architecture is unique to Kashmir with a red-roof. The temple was built by Queen Mohini and hence the temple is called Rani temple.

This 500 years old temple is dedicated to saint Baba Reshi. The temple's architecture is a confluence of Mughal and Persian styles. The highlight of the visit are the magnificent sculptures and wooden artworks.

This 100 year old quaint Church is located on the picturesque meadows of Gulmarg. Built in Victorian style, the gray stone walls of the church with wooden roofs stand out. It makes for a lovely walk.

Day 4: Gulmarg

We will take a gondola ride to get spectacular views of the mountains. The scenic views of

Day 5: Sonamarg

A short drive after breakfast brings us to the starting point of the trail to the glacier. The 3 kilometers
long trek passes through lush green pastures, and a beautiful forest, and ends at a viewpoint from
where you get a clear view of the glacier. T

The lake looks magical surrounded by the lofty Himalayan peaks and green meadows.

Nilagrad River is a highlight of the natural beauty of Sonamarg. Its waters pick up medicinal properties as it flows through Alpine terrain and lush vegetation.
