Thiruvalluvar Statue
It’s hard to miss the towering stone statue of Thiruvalluvar when you’re in Kanyakumari. The revered Tamil poet and philosopher is honored in a statue that stands 133 feet high to represent the 133 chapters of his literary masterpiece, the Tirukkural.
Its pedestal also stands 38 feet high to symbolize the 38 chapters of virtue in the same book. It is said that the statue took 5,000 tons of granite stone to build and was sculpted by Dr. V. Ganapati.

Vivekananda Rock Memorial
Just adjacent to the Thiruvalluvar statue is the Vivekananda Rock Memorial, Kanyakumari’s most famous tourist attraction.
